Job Summary:
The Global Health Undergraduate Program is hiring an Academic Advisor to work with current and prospective undergraduate students in the Global Health Major and Global Health Certificate, serving as a primary resource for a caseload of advisees. This position is part of the Global Health Advising Hub in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), which aims to create an inclusive and welcoming climate for all students and utilize proactive and holistic advising principles to promote student development and success. The advisor in this role is invested in the growth and UW experience of their student advisees, familiar with global health topics, and thrives in a collaborative team environment with staff and faculty. This role will work with a diverse pool of excellent and motivated students, joining an advising team that values diverse experiences, interdisciplinary learning, sustainable futures, international experiences, teamwork, collegiality, and professional growth.
The Global Health Advising Hub is located in Russell Labs within the Department of Entomology and CALS Academic Affairs. The Hub provides student-focused academic advising to a growing number of students in the major and a large number of students in the certificate, and also facilitates the success of both undergraduate programs. The advisor in this role will regularly meet with the advising team, as well as engage with faculty and advising colleagues within CALS and across campus. This position reports to the Advising Hub Associate Director. |
