| Student Support Advisor – Second Chance Pell |
| Madison College is hiring a limited term Student Support Advisor for our Second Chance Pell Program. The Second Chance Pell program provides students serving in a state penal institution the opportunity, to receive federal Pell Grant funding for tuition, fees, and books/supplies under a U.S. Department of Education Experimental Site Initiative. The Student Support Advisor will provide academic and career advising, monitor students’ academic progress, and serve as a mentor to increase student success. This position works closely with college faculty and staff, and Department of Corrections staff while serving students both in a virtual and face-to-face format in prisons throughout the state. This position will be supporting a culturally diverse, under-resourced student population, participating in a high profile, national program being monitored by the Department of Education. Up to 50% of this person’s time will be working in prisons, with routine in-state overnight travel 2-5 days per month, so access to reliable transportation is required. |
