The Lubar College of Business Mentoring and Engagement Coordinator oversees management of the college’s Multicultural Mentoring and Emerging Leaders programs to promote student learning and development. The coordinator drives student engagement within the college to foster student success, career readiness, and overall satisfaction with the business student experience at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Lubar College of Business. Additionally, the incumbent will serve as a liaison and provide support for business-related student organizations and clubs.
Job Summary
The Mentoring and Engagement Coordinator will create and administer initiatives to support Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and first-generation students, including coordination of the Multicultural Mentoring Program (MMP) and Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). Drive student engagement by supporting business student organizations, generate active participation within the college’s student organizations and clubs, and coordinate the Lubar Black & Gold Committee to enhance the business student experience and serve as a liaison between student representatives and the Lubar College’s faculty, staff, and administration. Other responsibilities will include assisting with other Lubar student retention and engagement activities such as the Fall Welcome, New Student Orientation, Business Panthers Living Learning Community, Lubar Majors Fair, Dinner with the Dean, Lubar 25 Recognition program, and student appreciation events.
Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • One or more years of professional work or internship/practicum experience in a higher education setting working directly with students is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • One or more years of experience in program development and event planning
  • Experience recruiting mentors/mentees and matching program participants
  • Experience working with multicultural and/or first-generation student populations
  • Experience working with student organizations and clubs
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills
