Introduction (Description of School/College/Dept/Program) | The Center for the First-Year Experience (CFYE) is a team-oriented unit charged with supporting the transition of all new undergraduate students and families through their first year at UW-Madison. We do this through intentional programming, strategic communication, and extensive collaboration with our campus partners. CFYE is part of Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, led by the vice chancellor for student affairs, Lori Reesor. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being, identity and inclusion, leadership and engagement, and student advocacy. Job Summary |
As a member of the Center for the First-Year Experience (CFYE) Leadership Team, this position leads campus-wide initiatives to support inclusive Orientation, Welcome, and Transition programming for Freshmen, Transfer Students, and their Families. Key programs include SOAR, WI Welcome, and the Wisconsin Experience Seminar, each of which merge student development and logistical/operational components. This staff member will build and maintain relationships and serve as a key collaborator with internal and external partners to ensure that Orientation programs meet the developmental needs of incoming students as well as UW-Madison’s overall goals and processes. The expected start date for this position is mid-April 2023.
