The College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) consists of seven departments–Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering. The College has approximately 1,600 undergraduate students and 400 graduate students. Greater Milwaukee, the third-ranked manufacturing center in the United States, is home to 400+ engineering firms and 1300+ manufacturing firms. Job Summary The advisor will provide support in recruitment, registration, admission processes for graduate students, as well as graduate program support and office management functions. Also provide academic advising to graduate students and support to the objectives of College of Engineering & Applied Sciences Graduate Programs.
• Coordination and administration of graduate programs (50%)
• Administration and advising of graduate student admission, registration and enrollment (30%)
• Recruitment responsibilities/program coordination (10%)
• Office management responsibilities (5%)
• Miscellaneous – other duties as assigned (5%)
Minimum Qualifications Applicants for this position must have:

• A bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years or more experience in graduate admissions at UW-Milwaukee
• Evidence of excellent written communication skills
• Evidence of proficiency in computer utilization including Microsoft Office Programs

Preferred Qualifications Highly qualified candidates will also have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Engineering or related discipline preferred
• Previous experience working in a higher education environment
• Experience in graduate admissions at a higher education institution
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational ability to successfully complete projects and prioritize multiple tasks accurately with strong attention to detail
• Evidence of ability to work as part of a team and with diverse groups
